At the award ceremony for this home, the judges said, “Stitt Energy Systems’ unwavering passion for energy conservation is the primary reason for the company’s existence. In the company’s own words, “energy efficiency is not a sideline for our company. This is what we do, what our reputation is based on, and what we are committed to do in the future.” The EVHA judges also remarked that the “excellent company philosophy…has lasted the test of time,” and that the company’s “dedication to energy efficiency and an integrated design process is very clear.”

2007 Best Model Green Home Building Guidelines

NAHB sponsors the NAHB National Green Building Awards, and provides information on how to use sustainable design to build homes that use renewable materials prudently to conserve energy and environmental resources. While presenting the award at the conference awards presentation, the presenter/judge said, “To receive a Gold rating with the Green Home Building Guidelines, a home must score at least 395 points. This home scored more than 500 points and far outdistanced other homes considered for the award.” This set the banquet hall buzzing.

This craftsman style home was designed for a young family with open areas and sight lines so that children are supervised. Upper level bedrooms and play areas also allow for privacy. This 3,700 square foot home is one of the most environmentally conscious designs with careful attention to site placement and materials selection.
